During the monthly webinar hosted by WG4, scheduled for Monday, November 25, 2024, from 18:00 CET, Georg Grasegger will present a talk titled:

Mathematical Qwirkle

Summary Qwirkle is an abstract game based on tile placement. There are tiles with different shape and color which have to be placed according to some constraints. There are several combinatorial questions we may ask in relation to the game. We analyzed one of them in a workshop with high school students. We were particularly interested in whether there is a non-trivial pattern in the game such that no additional tile can be placed. In the talk we present some results and also the setup of the project with the students.
