During the weekly webinar hosted by WG5, scheduled for Friday, April 11, 2025, from 18:00 CET, Elias Stouraitis will present a talk titled:

Teaching history through digital games: learning challenges and boundaries

Abstract: The idea of the presentation focuses on the historical representations presented by digital games and how they could be part of a teaching process. Digital games differ from other digital media, since they involve the audiovisual process with the active participation of the players. The discussion will focus on aspects of historical representation that students usually interact with through specific examples. The aim is to raise the challenges of leveraging such digital games in history education, how students are involved, how they understand the historical past and which are the limitations of this implementation.
